Sunny Anniversary... 2012

Saturday, 12 May 2012

Just back from Exeter (a yearly shopping trip... dont ask, nightmare, hell on earth, etc... Thank god Im home and all that...) and into the garden for tea! Heres a new secondhand book I picked out at www.book-cycle.org and what treasures they had in there! Also theres my newly made teapot cosy on the tea tray. Very easy, just 8 granny squares gathered at the top with ribbons.

And look at these colours in the sunshine! I was so inspired by the sunshine I had a wander around the garden and snapped some pictures with my new camera! Its a Canon IXUS 115 HS and I have high hopes of some rather splendid pictures with it!

Growing lambs...

Some pictures of my Rhodedendrons...

This one has huge bells and is very scented. Its so pretty! They are like petticoats hanging from the branches...

My all time favourite... Lilac. And as much as I like the white and dark purple ones, I love the old original windowlene colour best of all. Remember Windowlene from the 1970s? The smell always gave me a migraine as a little girl, but I loved the colour so much...

The Angelica is reaching for blue skies...

The speed this plant grows at is staggering!

And we finish with me giving a demented laugh over my cup of tea after the mornings carrying ons...

We...
  • Finally bought a special dress for Middlests party. Deep midnight blue taffetta. V pretty.
  • Bought beads in Bunnyip beads.
  • Visited book cycle and bought some secondhand books.
  • Bought a wedding outfit for Littlest for a family wedding in June.
  • Went to a vintage dress shop and oooed and aahhed.
  • Went to Boots opticians and got my very wonky glasses (been like it for 5 months, but couldnt face going in to get them mended) straightened.
  • Went to a tattoo shop and had a nice chat with a very hairy man who assured me he could finish my half done tattoo (5 years is long enough of having a half finished picture drawn on your body) and that he would add a big butterfly and also a babbity bee for me. Im making an appointment for the week after next I think and just doing it! The shop smelt strongly of disinfectant which you could smell in the street even, so I take this as a good sign!
  • Have returned home to sanity and peace and green-ness and tea pots with a considerably lighter purse and possibly at least 3 more silver hairs than I had this morning...
I feel the need for more tea coming on...

  1. Ren, once again a girl after my own heart! Not just the lilac's on this post (I have the darker ones on my last post but lOVe yours too!) I also have recently bought that VERY CAMERA (in shocking pink!) I've been quite lazy with it and just point and click and haven't found time to look at the cd that came with it, ...one day! My pics come out ok enough for me. The wonky glasses thing sounds like me too. I've put this off for many many months and will probably continue to do so until I need a new prescription, there always seems so many other things I have to do first. Well done with the city visit, you'll need a nice cuppa in the sunshine after that ordeal. :)
