Such busybee-ish-ness lately in the Fairysteps workshop!

So rewarding to complete orders and to get them packed up for their new homes...

Always makes me smile...

Hopefully the new owners will fall in love at first sight...

I loved them all!

And Ive even made huge inroads into the next batch! The uppers are all but complete and will be ready for soling by the end of the week! Well done me! Pat on back and have another biscuit...

Heres a little half way through peek at the finished COBWEB boots up there at the beginning of the post. It was quite a striking image so I wanted to share it!

Last notes:
  • I STILL haven't made a single bag! I honestly cant wait much longer! Its driving me bonkers making them over and over in my head at night time! Ive been desperate to re work an older style called AGATHA which was a lovely bag, only I wanted to make her much larger as a working day bag for projects, books, folders or laptops, etc. And another one called STUFF which i only ever made one of BUT it was such a big beauty!
  • My old trusty cooker which was a wedding present 22 years ago has finally driven us to buy another... sad but inevitable. The oven hasnt been reaching temperature for years (how I cook bread in it I just cant fathom...) and the top oven burns everything, plus the door fell off a few weeks ago... The rings on the hob are the old coil round ones and theyve all sunk far below the surrounds so they never even touch the bases of the saucepans. Hence, a pan of water takes about 2 months to come to the boil... BUT bearing in mind that this cooker has helped to feed my family for 22 years, has probably cooked about a thousand loaves, gallons of jam, the same of chutney and countless other preserves... I cannot complain. But its time to retire... God knows how much electricity it wastes.
  • My new cooker comes tomorrow. Cant wait...!

Frederica is growing so fast that each time she feeds Im envisioning Aunt Marge on the Harry Potter films when she blows up and floats away... so if you see a lamb in the sky...
