A new council tip... O dear, its my bedroom...

Saturday, 3 April 2010
Today the time came to face the appalling tip masquerading as my bedroom... Im quite ashamed to share these pictures, but am determinded that by airing them I might not go back to square one... It rained all morning so Mr Fairysteps set to and built me a wardrobe in a corner alcove. My other small wardrobe is not large enough anymore (truth be told, it never was) and with all these new dresses Im going to be madly sewing on Sundays...
Heaps of clothes seem to be a constant feature...
Piles of inspiring books to read at night, capturing the last moments of my days...
The wardrobe begins...
The wardrobe ends...
A dark rosy pink wash over the wood and in went the goodies...
Clean, crisp cotton sheets and covers were collected from the airing cupboard, the bed was stripped, cleaned underneath (half a mile of dust extracted at this point...), bed frame disinfected, mattress turned and a good sprinkling of lavender water administered.
Job done...
The view from bed looks rather nice now...
My old suitcases holding my most treasured memories are clean and tidy...
My Grandmothers beautiful embroidery hangs above my bed reminding me that Spring comes every year... no matter how long the Winter...
As the last light of the day passes I feel happy with a job well done.
I shall sleep soundly tonight...

  2. How beautiful, You should see my tip,
a week ago I emptied my temporary shop and decided to put it all in our bedroom, as I knew I couldn't live with it in there, but as the kids are on holiday, there's more important things to do.... I want a calm, serene bedroom like yours....

  3. prosit! it takes a lot of energy and concentration to dedicate a whole day to one room but from experience I know the feeling of satisfaction at the end of it is something precious. Enjoy!

  4. Oh dear, you obviously haven't seen my bedroom! Though actually, at the moment, our bedroom is the lounge room, because the bedroom is still 'under reconstruction' and has been for several months, though my other-half tells me the wait will soon be over. It will be a very different room when we move back in, with a bed platform up above, and LOTS of much needed storage below...I am counting the days! BTW, I had a little case very like your blue one as my first school case!
