NEW STOCK! Poppet berets for Autumn chills...

I had woolly delights on my lap at the seaside yesterday...
In my spare time (blink and youve missed it...) Ive been busy with my new crochet pattern.
Making a hat sit atop your head in a nonchalant way isnt quite as easy as it may seem...
After much unpicking the pattern is perfected and safely noted down in little blue book of woolly spells for future reference...
I particularly like this colourway...
Then again I like this one too...
All are listed here in the Fairysteps Shop. Watch out for more of these... hot off the hook. Apologies for the model head, its awful I know but its all I have for hat modelling at present. I do have plans for a new one soon. Im just not sure what to go for. Any suggestions for hat forms would be much appreciated though!

  1. Oh I DO love these and am so sorely tempted. If only I weren't so badly overdrawn!!! I would have to have my hair cut into a snappy bob to wear one :D

My first few rows of the love blanket looks a little bit like yours (sort of!).

  2. I should think that if you were looking for a stand in, it would be fun to decoupage a head. Noooo not yours or the kiddos (as if they would hold still long enough!) What about an inexpensive (operative word) styrofoam wig head decoupaged with vintage sewing pattern pieces?? Or maps or vintage appliance manual pages,or vintage magazine adds. Well you can see my point the possibilities are endless. Hmm you could have different seasonal/holiday heads :)...Just saying...

  3. Personally I think the model head is perfect for such a lovely hat! Though I quite like the idea of the decoupaged one. I really like these, oddly enough, I really really like the pink and green one...pink isn't my usually my colour. But wool and my skin don't like each other so I'd have to have a *cough...splutter...teeny whisper* acrylic one, or everyone would think I had fleas I'd be scratching so much!

  4. Loved reading about your workshop transformation. And seeing these little crotcheted bits has made me feel like crotcheting again too!
