The woolly hoard (well one of them anyway)......

Tuesday, 14 April 2009
I dedicated a good 2 hours to filling my bedroom cupboard with all of my knitting and crochet books over 'Chocolate weekend' (we wont go into how many leatherwork books I have, I collect very old out of print ones...... its a big pile..... maybe another post).

I also stuffed in as much wool as I could without breaking hinges and glass....

"Gosh" (actually it was a little bit more than that!) my better half exclaimed, "is that all your wool? You wont ever need to buy another ball again!", (its obvious at this point that he does NOT knit, as only a non knitter would utter such words).

"It looks beautiful on show behind the glass doesnt it", I replied, completely avoiding the question and thus not having to admit that I probably have at least 6 times as much again..... and could probably do with about 10 more cupboards like this one...

Sorting 'the cupboard', along with painting the toilet a few days ago is just a couple of the many, many jobs which I am determinded to get done this summer.

The attic needs desperate attention, its so bad Ive been avoiding it for about 3 years now, but the time has come to face my own clutter. Trouble is I have bags of carefully hoarded fabrics and clothes for recycling which I cant bear to part with.....

Oh dear.

  1. What a lovely collection of beautiful wool you have - I'm envious! I'm in the throes of painting the bathroom at the moment, a job that's waited too long for me to get myself motivated enough to tackle it! I do like your bedroom cupboard, You can never have enough glasss-fronted cupboards as far as I'm concerned.x

  2. I know what a dilemma it is to de-clutter.... want to get rid of all the junk in my house but when I tackle it I realiseit is all useful things that my frugal self could possibly find a use for someday....so nothing gets chucked out! I think I need a bigger house, but then I would just hoard more stuff!

  3. Beautiful display of fine fiber! Best of luck sorting out your attic. You will feel so great when it's done (and be happy to find stuff you lost sight of, I'm sure!)
You can never have too much yarn. A.xx

  4. It does look lovely in the cupboard! Mine is stuffed in plastic boxes in my shed, with cedarwood and lavender soaked rags shoved in, as the moths got into my store a couple of years ago. I would love to be able to have it on display, but there is just not one inch more of space in our little house!
